Welcome to the New Frontier Backpackers Lodge
The New Frontier Backpackers Lodge offers luxury backpackers / budget self catering accommodation to local and international travellers. The lodge is situated on a large property just 3 km outside Nelspruit on the R40 to Barberton. The small city of Nelspruit is in the Lowveld region of South Africa's pictueresque Mpumalanga province.
The backpackers is surrounded by mountain bushveld covered "koppies", large indigenous trees and prolific birdlife -- it has a tranquil atmosphere.
The luxury backpackers / budget self catering accommodation consists of 12 well furnished rooms offering single / double / triple / quad / dorm options. Each room contains: a granite desk shelf and chair, a ceiling fan, a small fridge, a clothes rail (a cupboard in some rooms), as well as comfortable beds. With the exception of towels, all linen is supplied.
The ablution facilities are modern and well finished -- separate for ladies and gents -- each consisting of a bath, two showers, two toilets and four hand basins. The ablution block is about 30 meters from the rooms.
At present cooking facilities consist of a small kitchen area that contains a microwave, stove, kettle and cutlery for self catering purposes. There is a pleasant braai area next to the secure parking, which is situated in front of the rooms.
The New Frontier Backpackers Lodge is a short drive away from Nelspruit's shopping centres -- the closest having a Spar supermarket, a Pharmacy, a Spur Restaurant, a laundromat, home industry, DVD video rental shop, a BodyQuest gym, and more.
Being only 59 km from the nearest entrance gate to the Kruger National Park, the New Frontier Backpackers Lodge is ideally situated for day drives to the Park.
New Frontier Backpackers Lodge is also the perfect 'spring-board' to the Panorama Route, where one can see wonderful sights such as the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, The Pinnacle, Bourke's Luck Potholes, numerous waterfalls, and also shop at the abundant art galleries and craft stalls, to name but a few. In addition to the scenic attractions, there are many historical sites and adventure activities, including 'The Big Swing' in Graskop.
